Jon Wayne Player of the Year 2023 ‑ Jackson Gutierrez
Congratulations to Jackson Gutierrez, the Quarterback for John Jay High School, and the Jon Wayne Player of the Year!
Jackson has been playing football and building his skills since he was 6 years old with the support and encouragement of his father and coach Gary Gutierrez.
Jackson had an amazing season, achieving; 1,722 passing yards, 15 passing touchdowns, 1,089 rushing yards, and 19 rushing touchdowns. He is a true team player and he was instrumental in helping his team, the Jay Mustangs, achieve one of their best seasons in the school’s history.
Jackson is a senior this year and has committed to the US Naval Academy after graduation. We are proud to call him the Jon Wayne Player of the Year!
